I am a writer and speaker who lives in southern California with my husband. We have two children and six grandchildren.
In the south, we have a saying, “She’s as old as dirt and twice as ugly.” Although I have accumulated LOTS of birthdays, I hope I am not in the above mentioned category, especially the latter part of it!
I have four children’s books published. They are, The Basket in the River, To the Town of Bethlehem, Jesus Rose on Easter Morn, and The Blind Man by the Road. They are in both English and Spanish.
I have also written articles for magazines, newspaper and online publications.
I am part of a wonderful critique group. Drop by an visit our blog some time!
Congratulations, Gloria!
This is really great. I sympathize with being unorganized. Or maybe it’s disorganized! Anyway, I think my desk must look like yours. And it isn’t only the desk. It’s the bookcases and all the little tables that are supposed to help the mess but just add to it.
It’s OK, though, as long as we can still be creative. I have a sneaking suspicion that many great writers had messes just like ours, only they didn’t talk about them. I believe this because it makes me feel better.
Keep up the good work,
Marilyn
Congrats as well!
It’s wonderful to hear about someone that put in the time and succeeded. I’m only just starting the “putting in the time” portion of my career.
Are you working on something now?
Best,
Kirsten
Kirsten, thanks for dropping by! I jumped over to your blog. So, a new baby will surely make it a challenge to keep writing!! Of course, it may have to be in bits and pieces but I KNOW you can do it! I hope you and the baby do well.
Yes, I now have an agent. She’s sending one of my manuscripts for adults out. I also am waiting for a publisher to respond to my query about a kid’s NF series. And, I’ve talked to an editor about writing a historical book about our area. Wait! Wait! Wait! So goes the writing game.
The best to you as you start your adventure in writing!!!
Gloria
My dear friend,
You write as beautifully as you are.
Love you,
Sandy
